Sunday, 2:00 PM Central time: about 19,500,000 gallons of oil spilled into the gulf.
This is why we need government. Officials regulate and stop greedy corporations who place the profit over the people.
With the Gulf under attack, what is to become of the environment, the jobs, and most of all the living things--people included--who now have to live with this mess not in their backyard, but as a part of their backyard--perhaps for years and years to come.
This is why deregulation is not the correct method to solve economic issues. If we had stood up against deregulation, this would probably not have happened.
And don't blame Obama. He was for stronger regulation, but he has to fight a large political party that still believes deregulation is the best way to go.

BOYCOTT
If we Americans stop spending money at BP gas stations--and I realize this will impact on BP gas station operators (but they can easily change companies and/or suppliers--I have seen this personally in Mid-Missouri)--if we Americans stop buying BP products--if we Americans stop paying our BP credit card bills--if we just BOYCOTT BP--
I bet BP will suddenly become the perfect corporation because money always talks and greed needs money.
Without money coming in from our nation, BP will watch its bottom line tumble--and it will not tumble from the disaster it created because insurance will pay for all of it (not cost BP any money at all or just a little bit).
Hit BP in its pocketbook and watch how quickly it will act.
We recently took a vacation and though I needed gas at one point, I traveled further and further until I found a non BP gas station and that's where we got gas.
We're boycotting BP.
Join us.

Why Should We Americans Boycott BP?--part 3
BP lied again and again about how great of a disaster it was causing. It claimed five thousand barrels when, in fact, it was leaking thousands and thousands more.
It talked the American leadership into allowing it to drill without any methods to stop a leak. In fact, it did not care what damage it caused as long as it could continue to make a huge profit.
How many officials did BP bribe--how many donations to campaign funds--to get permission to drill with few if any regulations? How many officials did BP lie to to get what it wanted?
BP never had a solution to deep sea drilling leaks--it only had a solution in how to make itself richer and richer and now it has caused a disaster so great, the United States may never fully recover,
BP is greedy and BP knows in the end it will still be one of the richest corp[orations in the world.

Why Should We Americans Boycott BP?--part 2
Because BP built an oil rig without regulations.
Because BP has no concern for its actions.
Because BP does not want to take the blame.
Because BP--British Petroleum--is a corporation based in England and thinks it can do what it wants because it is not an American corporation.
Because it refused to take action before it was too late.
Because it thinks it can get the Obama administration to [pay for the damage it caused.
Because it lied to the world about the environmental impact.
Because BP has no concern for its actions.

Why Should We Americans Boycott BP?
Simple.
BP's arrogance.
BP's inaction until iyt was too late.
BP's greed.
BP's arrogance.
BP's inaction until iyt was too late.
BP's greed.
